Not all South America is Latin America.
Countries which speak Spanish, Portuguese, French or another Latin language, in the Americas, are part of Latin America. For example Surianam is in South America but they're not part of Latin America because they speak Dutch, the same with Guyana, they speak English.
Dominican Republic, Cuba, Haiti and Puerto Rico are also Latin America. Three speak Spanish and Haiti speaks French. They're in the Americas, not in South America but in the Caribbean.
I hate it when South and Central America are referred to as "Latin" America based on their language (culture-wise is not so bad) especially, when Quebec, Texas, California e.g. are not being referred to as Latin, that would be like referring Equatorial Guinea, Angola e.g. as Latin Africa.
I have been to Puerto Rico twice and have always referred it as a Carribean country.
Saludos
Hablan espa?ol y portugues, y algo de Francés, esas son lenguas romances, es decir, provienen del Latín, de ahí que se le denomine Lationoamerica.
They speak Spanish and Portuguese, and some French, those are Romance languages??, come from Latin - LatinoAmerica. :)
Because of the Latinate languages, of course.
