The best places to volunteer are on the pacific and carribean coasts. It just depends what kind of volunteer work you would like to do. There is volunteering on indian territory, e.g: http://www.costaricabeauty.com/viewprofi...
and also volunteering for different projects:

Probably the best group to contact is actuar, they can be contacted here: http://www.costaricabeauty.com/viewprofi...
Their central office is in san jose. Good luck and have fun in Costa Rica. It is a great place to volunteer.
I have been to Costa Rica many times and own a house there. There are lots of ways to volunteer. Finca IPE is an organic farm near dominical that has volunteer opportunities. Many hostels there will trade accomodations for work on site as well, and I know of a small hotel near Uvita (and a few other places nearby) where volunteer situations can be set up. It depends on your motivation, preferred work type, and the deal you swing re. room and board or just room. Be careful as a lot of places will tell you it's a sweet deal, and then treat you like slave labor. Good luck.
Hi James, Costa Rica is best option for volunteering. There are so many projects available. Before joining any volunteering placement you need to read about them. I am sharing a link for you where you can got the information : http://www.volunteeringsolutions.com/cos...
Cheers.
I went to Costa Rica this past sumer on a missions trip, and we went to Roblealto. It changed my life. I celebrated my sixteenth birthday their too, and can honestly say that it was the best birthday I have ever had. The kids looooove to play and be held and simply touch your hands. The usually come form very poor living situations (poverty, parents involved in gangs, prostitution, and drugs, etc.) Please check it out, this organization is very near and dear to me. (:
I am looking for places in Costa Rica that take volunteers for a 3 to 6 month duration. Let me know if you know of any fun volunteer opportunities in Costa Rica. Thank you!!
