I don't know where to stay at when I travel to Mexico City. I don't want to stay at a hotel. I kinda have the idea of staying at someone's house. I saw it on a movie, where someone went to Italy and they stayed at a villa, the people owned the villa and had several rooms in their house where people could stay and they took care of the travelers, by that I mean that they cooked for them and stuff. I don't know if they do this anywhere else. I am asking if this is called something specific because I don't know what to google. Is this something that's real or was it just in the movie? Thanks!

The usual international word is BED AND BREAKFAST for this kind of home stay-like experience. Google that.

However, I doubt Mex City will have people willing to offer a real home stay. Bed and Breakfasts are usually a small business.

Personally, I would not go to Mexico at all without an armed guard of former SEALs. Why go where you are not liked and where you are a target for bad stuff??? Gosh!!!
