First you have to ask yourself a couple of questions: How old are you? Do you think your love of anime is a big enough reason to move to Japan? Will your love of anime be the same right now as it will be when you are an adult? Do you think your love of Mexican food will be enough of a reason to move to Mexico?
Japan will be a bigger culture shock than going to Mexico from an American stand point. Mexico is Christian so they have similar holidays as the US. You can find a lot of American food in Mexico. Not sure about Japan but I know you can get burgers and fries at almost every small town in Mexico. Its cheaper to fly to the US from Mexico than from Japan. Japan is crowded which makes housing expensive. You have to get used to living in a small apartment which may be hard if you live in a big house here in the US.
Its easier to learn Spanish than Japan because we are so close to Mexico. Learning Japan will only allow you to speak to the 100 Million people living in Japan, Learning Spanish will allow you to speak with 500 Milion people.
Definitely Japan since it suits your likes. You'll fit in perfectly. I'm sure there are some restaurants in japan that serves Mexican food, or you can just learn it yourself so you won't miss the feeling of being in Mexico as well.
Japan Ftw cuz they have anime without censoring the blood because in America they edit it out but Japanese kids don't even get violent from it in Japan! Lol pretty weird I know but it's true anyways my point is you should go safe 100%
