Where should I go in the world?

My Grandfather has given me a wonderful chance to go anywhere in the world I want. Will, I live on the east coast of America and I can't go past like China. So if anyone has been to an amazing place, that's nice in the spring time, please tell me. Right now I am set for London, but I am afraid it is too much like America. Please help! I have never left this part of the world so..... Also: Info about what I like:

I like shopping, paintings, photography, I would love to see a castle, good food, I LOVE history and I am thinking about a different languages, but I think English might be okay.

Jess, Australia is not dangerous, I did two tours over there of two and a half years each, lived in Sydney, in an apartment right across from a great beach. I went diving on the Great Barrier Reef, sailed the Whitsundays, and did a 5 person guided camping tour of Arhnemland, and when they say you will be roughing it, they were not joking.

The shopping is great, the food is exquisite, but what tops it off, is the Aussies themselves they are absolutely awesome.

From there if you want to take a South Pacific Cruise out of Sydney for 10 or 12 nights, that's the place to do it from. Melbourne, Darwin, The Barossa Valley absolutely great.

If you like photography, then the camping guided tour I mentioned is right up your alley, specially with the Aboriginal kids swimming in those great streams and natural pools, and they way your shown how they gathered and prepared food in the old days.

If you want to see Castles and you love history and photography then I would say London is a great place to go. Of course, some parts of it may be similar to America, but the difference is, is that England is tiny compared to America. For instance It's only a few hours drive to go to great places like Wiltshire where you have Stonehenge, Cheddar Gorge and all the Celtic ruins. So the moment you get tired of London it's much easier seeing the rest of the country!

Technically London is past china. If your going From east to west and techically los Angeles is past china if your going from west to east. Lol but anyway I would recommend all of Europe. Start in Rome and make stops in Venice Vienna Prague Berlin Paris Barcelona London Zurich and then rent a car and drive to geneva then back home. Stay for a day to two days each and take the train (except Barcelona to London and London to Zurich take the plane) this will give you a glimpse of what these European cities have to offer. Also memeorize this and your trip will be much easier! http://www.traveldudes.org/travel-tips/p...

Australia is cool but can be a little dangerous. New Zealand is amazing and so very friendly. I have been to thailand and loved it thats about all I can so so far. If you asked me about a dream destination I would say antarctica.
