Natalia and Tatiana are somewhat common in both Spanish and Portuguese speaking countries, even if the person has no Slavic roots. I don't know the reason for this. These names don't sound strange in these languages, on the contrary, I believe that's the reason.

I've met a fair amount of Colombianas and it seems a lot of them have russian names, like Olga, Natalia, Tatiana, etc. What's the story behind this? Is there some reason Eastern European names are popular in Colombia?
