Italy. I lived in Italy for over 13 years for my job. Even with all the wonderful, art, architecture, music, food, and local festivals, traditions and culture, the best part of being there is the people. I made many friends and still meet some of them from time to time. Italy is a very social and family oriented country. There is always something interesting going on somewhere and with the trains, it's pretty easy to get out to explore the rest of the country and further in Europe.
It's hard to say not living in a foreign country to have a true experience. It's a toss up, Ireland is stunningly beautiful. Canada has it's own varied beauty and the people are wonderful.
Antartica obviously. No one there so I would have the whole land to myself. And of course the occasional penguin or polar bear! :D
