You don't need a coat, it actually will be pretty warm and humid there. So be sure to bring clothing that is comfortable, not heavy cotton like those thick jeans since the humidity is different than anything here in the US. Your clothing will stick so bad to you that you'd have to peal it off.

If you are going to the mountains, bring your binoculars, OFF bug repelent, and bring your colones.

When its winter in US, its summer in CR. But u will see windy and cool days like usually no colder than 60 farren height. Sorry for the mispell. from VA u would probably first fly to GA or FL or TX and from those 3 places it take 2.5 hours to get there. People there dress the same as people in US and remember it will actually be summer there in Novenber so just take summer clothes. Also its handy to have sandals besides tennis shoes. Its not a flat place there are hills so be prepared to walk up and down a little. In some parts of CR u will need some mosquito spray and in some beaches. Or u can buy the repelent that is more like a moisterising cream. U can also find stores and pharmacies all over CR. U can buy a lot of stuff u need in CR as well.

The flight from VA is usually 6-8 hours on an itinerary with a 1-2 hour connection time. November is more towards the end of the rainy season, so as others mentioned a light rain jacket might be a good idea. Other than that Costa Rica is a warm tropical country so bring clothes that will keep you cool and a swim suit to enjoy either the beaches, rivers, and hot springs. Sunscreen for the sunny days and Off insect repellent in the case of mosquitoes.

You won't need a jacket. Bring a rain poncho. If you are going to the eastern side of the country it is more lush but also has more mosquitoes. Since it is your first visit I advise you to stay in the central or northwestern part of the country. Be sure to check out the Monte Verde cloud forest and the Arenal volcano.

I was wondering, how long does it take to go to Costa rica from VA?

Also, I'm going in Novemberish..... So anything I should pack?and how about my clothes..? will it be freezing there or warm?
