i want to go do a clinical placement in radiography next year for a few weeks in either one of these places mentioned above, and then travel around for pleasure for a few weeks after work. I am from india originally but have lived in australia since i was a kid . i have never been to either of these places, specifically Kandi in Sri Lanka and Iloilo in Philippines for the placement. Which of these two would be a better place to see culturally, travel around a bit and relax even tough i am going for work. ???

i am going to do all the touristy things after placement, and am open to travel around the country. so opt A or B as both places are tropical??

You should visit Philippines.. (not that im saying Sri Lanka is not good, its also a good country)

You will surely enjoy staying in Philippines.. like in Vigan which shows Spanish Beauty..

Ilocos, La Union, Baler, Subic is also an example for you to try surfing.... Boracay, Palawan have good beaches also..

Other people visits Albay (which you will found the perfect coned volcano) , Cebu and Davao. because of its great ambiance and other things to do that tourists will surely enjoy.

Other hand.. filipinos are very hospitable so you dont have to worry how to be with them. :) Tagalog is their language but they can speak English so you dont have to worry talking to them.

Sri Lanka is close to home and though I haven't been there, I hear it's a great place for visiting.

The Phillippines is another story. You have Manila in Luzon in the North. And Mindinao in the South. With a whole lot of islands in between, and that's where Iloilo is. Close to the South and very picturesque, but more provincial since you are going there for work and not sites. If your English is good, you could do well there.

One thing I do notice about the Filipinos is that they are very friendly, usually. Be modest and nice and you will get the same treatment in return. It's a great country.

Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka would offer you a chance to visit your homeland.

The Philippines would offer you a chance to explore the surrounding SE Asian nations and their cultural variations.

Personally, I'd go for The Philippines... (but, I live in Taiwan, so it's an easy choice for me! hahaha)

Philippines is better. If you compare to beaches and diving. Philippines will won. Many hystorical places and good beaches. Like Boracay. Its many tourist spot you can see! Like Palawan and Cagayan! Philippines is better!

Sri Lanka is definitely better than philiphins

Lot more beautiful (better beaches , good nightlife , better mountains , safari , whale/dolphine watching , ancient temples , better culture etc ) and friendlier than philipino people

+ Sri Lankans speak batter english that Philippine people

I would go for Philippines. Summer is best in Philippines. I heard there are lots of tourist spots in Philippines. Plus the people are friendly and nice. I think your experience will be great!
