As far as culture each country posess their own unique culture. I've been to Nicaragua a country rich in flora and fauna. People are extremely friendly and very helpful. Best time to travel is in February when they have poetry week in the oldest town in Central America - the colonial town of Granada next to lake Nicaragua which by the way boast about 400 islands. There are thousands of renowned poets representing over 156 countries that travel during the week of February. Nicaragua host poetry week every year. How about that for culture!. Nicaragua is known as the land of Lakes and Volcanos because basically at every turn that is what you will see. The Atlantic side is just as diverse as the pacific side. Once you venture to the Atlantic to towns like Bluefields, Port, Corn Island you are stepping into creol country with its own sound and music and culture and even more friendly people. You would think you've traveled to an entire different country when indeed you are still very much in Nicaragua. Also if you are a surfer, Jiquilillo in the state of Chinandega on the Pacific side is well known for its rough waves. Many surfers from around the world go to Jiquilillo. If you are adventurous you can try volcano surfing. Yes, it was invented by an Australian guy and the idea has really taken off. Not something I would personally try but if you are into that sort of thing then that would be for you. Overall, food is good, friendly folks, coffee as one of the best, national beer is excelent (Victoria or Tonya) and the prices aren't bad. Safest country in the whole of Central America but as always no matter where you go in this world you must still remain guarded. Watch out for the "gigantona" (the giant dancing lady of the streets, dressed in colorful dresses) if she sees you she may get you to dance with her.
You should go to Nicaragua! In Nicaragua you can have fun touring, in boat rides, having fun at the Granada Lake, you can also see Masaya Volcano which is a national park, you can visit Granada (the oldest city in America). You can have fun at beach resorts and many other places. The food is great! The people are very nice! You should go to Nicaragua!
I found India to be everything I expected and everything I didn't expect. It's a pretty amazing place full of contrasts - a modern country housing a primitive society. The north (like the state of Rajasthan) is completely different from the south.
The up side is that English is commonly spoken there along with Hindi and Urdu and many business signs are in English too..
Next year I am taking a gap year - the program I was accepted to will allow me to travel to India OR Nicaragua and Peru. What should I choose! I am more interested in central and south american culture but also feel like India would challenge me culturally in a way that Nicaragua and Peru would not be able to. Anyone been to any of these places?? What should I choose!
