yes, I would say that Colombia is a very nice place to live. I am from Southern California and spend a lot of time in Colombia and lovin' it. The people are very friendly and Colombia is a beautiful country. You have cities like Medellin with a near perfect climate, Cartagena de Indias which is one of the most beautiful cities in South America, etc. I would not consider Colombia a dangerous country. Yes, Colombia used to be dangerous but the situation has approved quite a bit. The crime is mostly associated with the drug trade, and if you stay away from drugs then you are just find, and nobody will bother you. Don't forget that there are a number of very dangerous cities right here in the U.S. like Detroit, St. Louis, New Orleans, etc., which are more dangerous than most cities in Colombia.
I hope that you'll be succesful convincing your mother to go to Colombia. Have a great time. I know that all of you will love it.
I lived in Medellin for two years and found it very safe. It is always spring time, not too hot or cold.
My problem with the place was it was like living in Cleveland, Ohio in the spring.
Yeah.Latin America is the best place for live, especially the Brazil.
If you love cocaine, live in Colombia.
Trying to convince my mother to move to Colombia for the summer in 2 years, to teach English as a foreign language (that's her job). My whole family speaks Spanish already.
I've heard people say it's dangerous though? Is this actually true, or is it just normal crime in big cities?
