Clear waters, calm seas and warm. happy and welcoming people, good food, and from what I saw the cost of living is not as high.

I am from California and spent a few months in Brazil last year including Maceio. Yes, Maceio is one of the most violent cities in Brazil, however, I had no problems at all. Maceiro is ok, but there are more fun places. Check out Pipa Beach, which is located between Natal and Recife. It is a tiny little town but lots of actions. There are many very nice beaches and you'll probably like it there a lot.
What crime is concerned you need to apply common sense and you will be ok. However, the fact that you are muscular, etc. doesn't matter at all. Remember, muggers there have guns and big *** knifes.

My country (Brazil) sucks. That's a fact. I have no clue why some of you from first world country think about coming in countries like Brazil or others bullsh*ts. Do you want a REALLY hot place to stay (bad choice!)? Go to Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, etc... But just FORGET about shi**y third world countries and you will enjoy your travel in PEACE and with RESPECTFUL people, for example...

Maceió's beaches are the most beautiful, clean and quiet in Brazil. This is the good place to visit here in Brazil.

Me and my friend are planning to go to a vacation to somewhere hot place... We are thinking about Maceio, Brazil. Actually Im going to meet this girl there and have some fun so its 60% sure we are going to Maceio... But ive heard its one of the most violent cities in Brazil, how is that?.. We live in Finland and here is alot of some weird sh#t too but yeah.. We are both 18, tall and muscular guys so I dont think no one would try to rob us or something but who knows... But how is overall Maceio?
