I mean it can't be that hard? Surely they don't have guards patrolling the coasts? All I need is a boat , and a license.

you are right, you just need a boat. It better be an icebreaker though which will put you back let's say $ 50 Million +. I guess you can fly to Antartica cheaper with your own plane. However, it needs to be specially equipped, etc., let's figure only about $ 5 Million +

You will need a little ice-breaker. A twin otter sea-plane might come in handy. The nearest civilisation is some five hours away by air.

first you are going to need an ice breaker (ship) to get close enough to land.....

then you will need either dogs or ice vehicle go get around.
