3 key things;
1) Have a place to go. Don't just run at random. All that will do is waste your time and money. There is no value without a plan. Like-it-or not, your not ready to go unless you have a target destination. The more specific the better. Don't just run to the city, know where in the city you want to go.
2) Bring valid ID with you. You can't even do simple things, like get a job, or rent a room unless you have something to prove your identity. Its a key item. A kid with no ID gets reported real fast.
3) 24 hours after you go, call & tell them you are OK but gone. It will protect you. Odds are you will be caught, don't fight it if it happens
If you are still in school, wait till the end of the semester, else they will charge you with truency. Bring some good clothes so you look resonable. Don't be afraid to change your mind.
Most important, use common sense. You have more control over things then you think. Good Luck.
Find someone to take you, in a different state. Be their girlfriend, and they will take care of you. That's your best chance at survival, but be VERY selective of who you trust. Make sure you see them on a webcam first. Find a younger guy that is lonely and wants a girlfriend, that is also a very easy guy and gullible. Make him feel bad for you, and he will get benefits if you can stay with him. Offer to clean the house, and make his meals.
No matter what, BRING A WEAPON. NO EXCEPTIONS!
Anytime will work. Do it when you're home alone. Leave a note saying you ran away (NOT in detail!). If you don't make it obvious you ran away and raise suspension of being kidnapped, then you WILL be looked for and be hunted down... but if you're purposely trying to hide, then you won't be looked for as much. That's why a signed note is important.
If you do this on your own, wear layers of clothes (depending on your climate) and hop freight trains... also bundle up in case you end up being taken up north, or bring extra pants, a jacket, etc in a bookbag or bag, whatever you want.

You will probably need some racy undergarments because likely you'll be earning a living as a prostitute. Maybe some real tall spikey heels and lot's of make-up. Grab all the make-up you can get because you will need a lot. Some form of birth control would be good.
To deal with your job, you will probably be taking drugs to numb the disgust at what you're doing, so maybe pack along a little container to store your stash in. If you think you'll be shooting up, long sleeved shirts would be good to hide your needle marks.

By running away you mean from your family? if so I'm sorry you're having a real tough time and all i can say is i hope you don't and try to sort out your differences / get help immediately.
Don't run away.
You'll get caught. You'll get put into therapy. You'll get foster parents.
It isn't a lovely experience.
