Flights to Argentina are expensive. I'd wait until the week after Christmas, as prices sometimes drop a bit as airlines try to lure people who've spent most of their money on Christmas gifts. I doubt you'll get a price much lower than, certainly not for less than 1,000. The good news is that prices for meals and hotels are relatively inexpensive (much cheaper than Brazil, for instance)
If you love cities with architectural charm and lots of culture, you'll love Buenos Aires.
I would by a travel guide to the country, or/and read up at this site. It's one I've used quite a bit before for my travels. You'll get much more detailed information and you can ask questions to your specific concerns

@Yes, it is very similar as far as customs. When you get there, you'll be issued a travel card which allows you to stay there for three months. They'll ask for it at the airport when you leave. And it's still a good idea to know somethings to do, in case you find yourself bored or alone on a certain day. They might like it if you give them some ideas of what you want to do. Make sure you visit Buenos Aires, it's a charming place. (The Paris of South America)
No, Argentina is just another occidental country.
What Jordan said is totally untruth, actually the US is more dangerous than Argentina and here we don't have problems with drugs, we are not Colombia.
In March is low season, I think it's the best time to go there. Don't go to Tucuman on summer because it's so hot, almost 97oF everyday.
That's my opinion, because I hate summer and hot places.
Well i dont know much abour argentina but i do know that at least for me it helps me when i learn some basic words in the language spoken where im going.
High crime and drug rate
I am a US citizen headed to Argentina for about a month is there anything I should know? I am leaving in March, returning in early April looking at paying $1300 for my ticket, is this a good price or should I continue to wait? Also, is there anything about customs, or the country as a whole I should know as a foreigner visiting?
