it is safe, and is not as dangerous. but remember that it is a developing country, so there are many thieves and security is precarious but you will not be murdered for being white as his mother thinks. always good to walk with a tour guide if something unforeseen happens.

peru is a great country, they have there ups and downs, but again all countries are not perfect. first in peru, you can drink at a 18, but to get your license i think you have to be more older then 18. In peru, there is a lot of white people. I have friends there in peru, and they are white (blonde hair, with blue or green eyes), you can even see people with red hair over there. But to see the white people you have to go to the rich areas, you know. and trust me big time, they have really cute boys over there!! omg! they are better then the guys in america, becuase they arent douches, they really respect girls over there and they truthful to you. also peru has a peruvian justin bieber, they loook the exact same:D and yeah peru is very fun. when the u.s. was just descovering stem cells, peru was already using stem cells to help people, they are very helpful and do there best, so you are safe, they are not doctors like the u.s. where they just give you medicine that dont help you and give surgeries that are really expensive. so yeah peru really understands the defintion of doctors then the u.s.. so yeah you will be safe in peru. :D good luck! and have a TON of fun!

How different are the two countries? I'm wondering because I want to go there for a week or two. Is the drinking age different? How old do you have to be to have sex? (Not that I plan on that just curious)

Is it safe for an 18 year old female to go there? My mother tried to tell me its not safe for me to go there. But she's kinda redneck and thinks America is the only safe place for woman and any guy that's not white is going to beat his wife. And shes never been anywhere but the USA.
So any advice?
