Best places to travel in the United States?

Posted at: 2015-06-30
Hi.. So I'm from Canada and my family and I are getting our passports this summer and we are deciding where to go in the US.

Where do you think are some good places to go for summer vacation? (I'm only 13 btw but I'll be 14 in Febuary)

Any suggestions would be nice. :) (Preferably somewhere that doesn't cost TOO much and that's not too hot. Lol-Sorry if I sound snobbish!)

Thanks! :D

The USA is geographically huge (almost as large as Canada but much more populated) and incredibly diverse in almost every way. The USA tourism website is a good place to start:

http://www.discoveramerica.com/

All of the southern USA has very warm weather from May to September, except in the mountains of North Carolina and Tennessee.

Once you narrow your choices, most states will mail information and maps to you for free. Example:

http://www.visitnc.com/free-travel-publi... (they will mail to Canada)

http://www.louisianatravel.com/guide-ord... (Louisiana has hot weather during summer)

Might help if you said if you are starting from Vancouver Island or from Newfoundland, or somewhere else in between. How far you have to travel makes a difference to the cost. And if you want to drive or fly. And yes, how hot is "too hot"? Just about every place in the US will be as hot or hotter than every place in Canada in summer, except places that are very high up.

Oh, okay. You don't want to give any particulars so we can make useful suggestions that actually fit your requirements, but just want suggestions. All right. Try Oregon.

Las Vegas, Los Angeles and San Francisco are some great places to visit in USA. Apart from that these are some famous tourist attractions like Niagara falls, Golden gate bridge, Denali national park and Florida keys.

California

Okay so we just want to relax and do some site seeing I guess. Any tropical places would be nice.

Anonymous- I just wanted suggestions.. If you thought I wasn't being specific enough you didn't have to answer.

What is "too" much and "too" hot? What sort of things interest your family? Do you want to mostly see natural sites (Grand Canyon, or a cavern, things like that), historical sites, fun activities, etc. Will you prefer (or be forced by budget) to camp, or stay in motel or hotel? Will you be driving from Canada to your destinations or perhaps flying?

since its close the black hills of south Dakota would be great as there are many free things to see in south Dakota. write or call the chamber of commerce for information. there is wal drug, corn palace, just a couple.
