This would depend highly on the cab you get in and in what country and where you are going in that cab. Most cabs in most countries have a meter that is specifically calibrated to calculate a rate per mile for that cab specifically for that period of time. Incorporated within that rate is the cab drivers time, the lease of the cab and fuel costs. Each country and city may have a different formula and rate that is charged. I do not recommend getting into a cab that does not have a meter as they can just make up what they want to charge you and trust me, Ive gotten in that cab before and go taken for a ride. Some cabs also have a fee right off when they start the meter which can be a few dollars and then they start the per mile charge but once again it depends on where you are and where you are going.
