As the other answerer said, I don't understand why you would go to a foreign country to buy clothes you can buy at home... not to mention they are more expensive AND depending on the amount you may owe Customs duties on your way back home...
There are no cheap American clothing stores in Costa Rica... they are more expensive then back at home anyway.
Many of them are there today and no they are not cheap. You will find that you will pay 2-3 times in CR what you will pay in the US for name brands. Many of my Costa Rican friends (and foreigners living in CR) go to Panama, Miami, or Orlando and do their shopping then. Once the stores pay import duties and mark up the prices have to be higher for them to profit, and the tax rate to the consumer in CR is 13%.
Why would anyone go to a foreign country( on a short trip) and then look for the same stores that they have at home? This is a concept that defies common sense.
besides forever 21, aeropostale and walmart, what are some other american clothing stores over in Costa Rica and is shopping there cheap?
Me and my family are going there for a week after Panama.
