A blog platform with the right custom theme will probably do, a free hot like Google's Blogger.com or Wordpress.com might do, your should at least get a custom business domain name to look more professional and provide continuity when changing hosts. That domain would be about $12/yr, get a .com name if at all possible.

About 17% of the top 1 Million web sites use the wordpress blog platform, many on paid hosts with fancy themes that make them not look like blogs.

Again the advantage of a blog platform, virtually no programming skill is required.

Hi there, I suggest you to try wordpress to create a web page for a small business especially if you dont have web design/development skills. However, your website would be simple and not that good at first because its the default theme on wordpress after you install it. There are also lots of themes you could download for free to make your website look professional.

If your looking for web designer/developer to create you a website from scratch. Check out https://www.staff.com/skill/Web+Developm... where you could look for competent web developers yet affordable to create you a website.

There are so many free website builders available online which allow small business owners to create a professional website. I recently used http://www.webstarttoday.com and found extremely easy and comfortable to use. You don’t need any technical knowledge to use it . It offers FREE website with a lot of features like attractive designs, content, uploading of images and videos, photo gallery, SEO, monitoring, hosting, domain name purchase etc.

I recommend a Wordpress blog on a self-hosted site. Easy to install and configure (lots of free info &/or videos to help you) with thousands of free themes and plugins available. We do this with all our new sites and when we find a suitable free theme, we'll change the header graphic as well as colors of tabs & background etc.

I need a webpage for a small business. I have no web design/building experience, and my budget is no more than $100. What is the best alternative to make a very simple (no ecommerce, flash, etc), yet professional looking website?
