I want to make some amateur films with friends and put them on youtube, but most names I think of for the production company (not that it's much of a real company, just a moniker signifying our group and the name of the channel) have been used by someone somewhere before. If they are geographically distant and not terribly famous is it okay to use an existing company name? If not, is changing the end of the name (Say, from productions to films or from entertainment to media) enough to make it legally useable?
