Is this craigslist job ad real?

a lot of the CL c*** such as this is commission-only door-to-door peddling. vacuum cleaners and such, as an example. the net pay is a joke. you'lll give up after you realize this...hopefully before you've paid out for 'inventory' bought from the slob running the 'orientation' meeting.

the term 'public adjusting firm' is hopelsssly vague and a bad sign.

but nothing is certain. its up to you, ultimately.

Tell him you need the name and address of the company before you agree to come to the interview

Group interviews are almost always the sign of a commission-only based sales job where they hire everyone because they have such high turnover

Also ask for a job description to be sent to you IN WRITING before you decide whether or not to attend the interview. Any legitimate employer would have no problem sending this. If they say you have to come and they'll give you more information then, I would be worried

I dont know what a public adjust firm does but get a name and phone number which you need if you are going to the orientation and ask them what their name is. Check it with the BBB or your state business licensing agency.

Go with someone if you can. If the interview is in an office building that is better than a hotel. If they dont give you a company name forget it.

Why dont you register with an employment agency for a job, or look through the job vacancies at the Unemployment Office?

A Group Interview is not a good sign, they may be asking you to sell something like over priced knife sets to your family and friends, some of these business have a high seller turnover, often they are unable to make any additional sales beyond their immediate circle of family and friends.

So, I won't go into too much detail. Basically I was e-mailing job ads that appealled to me. I got one reply today from only one of the companies I applied for through email. Now, I'm no idiot. I wouldn't have asked this question if the e-mail asked for online information like my social security or maybe sign up with my credit card. The e-mail specifically gave me the address and the guy told me to only dress in professional attire and to be there at a certain time on tuesday to attend an orientation with others. Seems legit but the only thing that bothers me is that when I checked their website last night, I was rushing through different jobs and I didn't have much time to see if the website was legit or not. And nowhere in the email does he state the actual name of the company which he says is apparently been there for 20 years.

The job is supposedly for a public adjusting firm and he said no experience is required.

Am I going to get raped? Seriously answers please lol.
