Steve is correct. Family members are usually not permitted to use an employee's discount. However, if you buy what your mom wants, then YOU have used the discount, not your mother. Make sure you make the purchase.
Ask your boss, but staff discounts usually just extend to staff, who can make reasonable personal purchases but there's probably a limit on the $ amount to avoid people extending their discount to the world.
