You cannot promote your items buy advertising or anything like that on ebay. The best way to generate interest is to make sure you list in the right category, take good pictures and include and detailed description. If you then price it realistically, as long as there is demand for your products people will find them and they will sell. The pictures and description are as important as the price.
You don't need to as ebay is a very popular site with thousands of people searching every day.
You can promote your listed items on related websites mainly forums about catering for example also if you fail to sell on ebay don't give up there are loads of other places to sell including gumtree, craigslist and search for second hand catering equipment for sale.
Try going on facebook and finding different pages related to what you are doing and post your links like yardsellr, etc.
