Same bidder.
Bid once, (say a fiver) but then decided they might pay a tenner for it, so bid again.
If another bidder comes along and offers eight quid, the bid from the first bidder will jump to 8.50

That means that the person who has put a 99p bid on, has also put another high bid on, but their bid will only increase once someone else joins in the bidding. So say they've put ￡5 as their highest bid, if the next person bids to ￡2 then the original persons bid will go up to just over the ￡2 mark................
This is how ebay works, lets say you bid a max of 50 quid on an item that is at 1 right now and the bid increment is 1 pound. You are the high bidder, then someone bids a max of 10 pounds, your max bid beat there's so the new price is their max bid plus one bid increment, so now it's at 11 pounds. You can only be outbid if someone bids a max bid of 51 quid.
It sounds like something is amiss here, I would understand if it said one bid but at 2 bids the current bid should have increased. Contact ebay themselves I think
I put up a product with a starting bid of ￡0.99. It say's it has 2 bids, but it still says current bid is ￡0.99.
What's that all about?
