Is this a email inquiring about graphic design work a scam?

100% Scam

It is just a twist on the typical fake check scam.

The check you would receive would be for more than you agreed to. The scammer will ask you to send the overage back to him via Western Union or MoneyGram. He will probably even let you keep a little extra for the "trouble".

Then, a few weeks later, you are notified that the check was fake. This leaves you on the hook for covering the bad check and possibly even facing criminal fraud charges yourself.

I got a similar email!!!!

Typical fake check scam

There is NO orphanage in Anchorage called Life is Precious. The real Life is Precious is based in NYC and provides support to Latina females who have attempted suicide http://comunilife.org/life-is-precious%E...

Not to mention there is no orphanage anywhere near 315 Chiswick High Road in London -- that's a Mail Boxes Etc branch http://www.allinlondon.co.uk/directory/1...

Why would some Orphanage in Anchorage, Alaska be hitting you up for design work and if they did wouldn't you expect their english to be a bit better. Its a scam, don't waste any more time on it.

Unsolicited e-mail job offers are always scams.

The check will be fake.
