I would say no. Not for someone who is 14 and potentionally unwise in the few scams that tend to exist on Ebay. I would say that if your dad has an ebay account, then he know's (or at least is semi knowledgable) of the Ebay ways. Let your father sell your things for you.
Why do you need to know? At 14 years of age, you have a 4 year wait.
