You have a month to month lease, 20 days in WA, no matter what reason he asks you to leave. He in fact needs no reason at all.
If you have no lease, he gives you 30 days to vacate. The above poster indicated less for Washington state, so I guess it depends on the state.

He doesn't even have to tell you!! What would matter, you just continue making your rent payment your a "minion" !!!! Until further notified of where payment is sent too. What does it matter who owns property,doesn't effect you or your payment if in a legal contract.
It should be one month's notice, but I'd carefully go over your lease to see if it's mentioned.
