That's a difficult one - the Greeks have a very long history full of Heroes. However, many of these are in Greek Mythology - so it is important to separate the 'mortal from the immortal,' as it were.

Two Heroes of Greece come to mind - one a Heroine of Greece the other an Englishman who helped liberate Greece from Turkish control.
