best clubs in London?

Posted at: 2015-06-30
basically I'm 18 in April and me and a group of friends of all ages will be looking to go a club, just wondered what clubs people go to? I want somewhere with a good vibe with drum, bass and dancy music! I was thinking of egg? has anyone been there? what do you think of it? thanks for anyone who replies

As others have said, some clubs and pubs have a 21 policy although I'm sure you can find somewhere to go. Make sure you all have valid ID such as driving licence or passport because a lot of places have a "no ID, no entry" policy even if you're 50.

www.londonnet.co.uk is a good place to start - click on the clubs section. Work out what areas you are willing to go to and make sure you know how to get home from them too! You don't want to be stranded in a part of London with no idea where the night bus goes from at 3am! If you are going home on your own make sure you use a licenced minicab or black cab which may cost a lot of money so budget for this because you don't want to take chances with your safety. www.viewlondon.com is a good london review site so when you find somewhere you like the look of, check out the reviews from people who have been there. Safe options are Tiger Tiger in Piccadilly - mixed crowd, busy at the weekends, licensed cabs outside; Roadhouse Covent Garden - mixed crowd, live music, licenced cabs outside. Places like Fabric in Farringdon and the Ministry of Sound in Elephant in Castle will attract a more "rave" minded person so be aware that illegal substances will almost certainly be around so if you're not into that, watch your drinks. Expect to pay around £10 - £20 for club entry at the weekend and around £6 - £10 for a single spirit drink with mixer depending on the club. Watch out for "tourist trap" places like Zoo in Leicester Square which always seems to be full of young people who don't really know where to go so end up there paying through the nose for a terrible experience.

No clubs in London will allow under 18s through the door. You all have to produce ID.

Most clubs don't admit 18 year olds. 21+ is common. Clubs can set their own rules. That's why they're clubs.

Strict ID checks will take place.

Egg sounds like a cracking idea. Presumably the best place for Hen Nights.

Of all ages - does that mean under 18? If so - they stand no chance of getting in anywhere.

What does the word "basically" add to this?
