Where s the safest place to live in Scotland?

The safest place isn't necessarily the best place for you to live - somewhere in the Shetland Islands may have very low crime, but also has a very low population and very little job opportunities.

If you're American, you won't be moving anywhere in Scotland without a work visa. And the location of your sponsoring employer will dictate where you can move to.

There are plenty of places - Scotland is no more violent than England or any other country in the UK. As for Aaviers comment about Scotland having alcohol problems - have a look at this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1mIrBFp-... This is how England/Wales celebates -https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ha0Gooon... This is how Scotland celebrates

We are so 'unpleasant' that thousands of your fellow Americans visit every year - and not just at New Year!

Mind you, unless you have skill that we need you'll find it hard to get here.

You could live in the highlands- there aren't many people at all there so little crime but like someone else said you might get a little bored and there aren't any jobs apart from sheep farming.

Scotland in general is an unpleasant violent country with an alcohol problem, I would recommend somewhere in England instead.

"do the Scottish folk like Americans? "

Put it this way- the Scottish folk don't like anyone who isn't white, protestant Christian and Scottish.

Currently living in the United States.

I'm looking for helpful answers and knowledgeable people.

I would like a list of places to live in Scotland that are safe, easy to get around and friendly. I'm looking to relocate in the future. 2018 maybe or sooner.

Also do the Scottish folk like Americans?

Thank you. Please be helpful and serious.

I was thinking of vacationing in Scotland and this sure makes it sound unpleasant. I dont' want to go somewhere that I won't enjoy. I'll have to think my destination over.

Sorry but as already said you cannot come to work here. We have the same rules as the US. You need to have a professional job on the shortage of skills list.
