Help! Flying to Holland, what do I say?

Posted at: 2015-06-30
Tomorrow I'm flying out to Holland to visit my Dutch mom. I'm a dual citizen, but I never bothered to get a Dutch passport. Does Schengen visa apply here? Will they let me into the country? I speak Dutch?

If you come from an EU country you have no problems.

If you come from a country such as the USA, Canada, Australia, then you can stay in the Netherlands for up to 90 days.

But there are many countries whose citizens need a Schengen Visa to visit the Netherlands. If you come from one of these countries, and try to travel without a visa, you won't even get on to the plane!

As you haven't bothered to say which country you are a citizen of, it is not possible for anyone to give you advice.

Well, if you HAD bothered to get a dutch passport, you wouldn't have to worry about visa

How can we give an answer if you don't tell what passport you have?

That you speak Dutch is totally irrelevant, you need valid papers.

What country does your passport come from?
