Sounds like a bit of a generalisation to me. I have never owned or driven a car and I only bought my first washing machine 7 years ago when I moved to the countryside where there are no launderettes. My main hobby is hiking which costs nothing. My TV is 10 years old and although my present computer is only 2 years old, I had my previous one for 10 years
Funny that, ostentatious that what we think of Americans with there big homes, gas guzzling cars, fly there own planes and sail there own boats, walk round as if they have just come off the beach or golf course
You have only seen London. That's not real England. Get out of London and you will see a different and much nicer place.
