There's blacks in Latin America because the Spanish and Portuguese imported there. Same reason why we have them in USA.
Colombia and Brazil needed the black slaves to maintain the country when the spanish ruled them, because there was no major Native Civilization with people to use as slaves, as there was in Peru, Ecuador and Bolivia with the Incas and other groups. Same with Mexico and most of Central America, they had the Aztecs to use as slaves and did not need more. Panama had no major civilization so black slaves had to be imported. Today, there are many blacks in Panama, 10% of Colombia's people are black, and Brazil has the second largest black population in the Americas (USA has the first, Colombia has the 3rd).

What about White people? They're a minority too. They're not native to Latin America, either. You should be asking why are there White people, as well.

The various colonists in the Americas tried to enslave the indigenous peoples, but that proved impractical, so they went with African slaves.

there were slaves in north america, carribean, and south america. for every slave brought to english colonies, 3 were brought to brasil
Mexico, Argentina and Uruguay don't have many blacks.
And because of slavery, duh.
Countries like, Ecuador, Colombia, Venezuela, Argentina,Uruguay,Honduras, Mexico. Those are where the main blacks live anyways and Lots In Brasil so why are there many of them there. Shouldn't they be all in USA or Canada why Latin America tho?
