Well, define "best place". Does this have to be a place where I would like to live? Or just a place where I enjoyed my time as a visitor?
Anyway, I will never forget my trip to North Korea. The government-owned tour company there is doing its best to impress tourists, so we had a nice and comfortable air-conditioned bus and were taken to one sight after the other, all day long. We had three North Korean tour guides with us (for a group of about 15 people), and a camera man who made a movie of our trip.
We were also given good food, and no-one went hungry in our group.
The guides were friendly and the group was comfortable around them. Of course you didn't discuss politics with them. Read some books about North Korea before you go there - but don't discuss them with your guides.
When you go to North Korea, you'll also have to go to China, because the tours to North Korea start in Beijing.
This year, I went to Japan and I can recommend it as well. I went on a guided tour, and we stayed in Tokyo, near Mount Fuji (hidden in clouds), in Hiroshima and Kyoto. People there are very polite and will bow to you if you just buy a postcard. I was a bit embarassed by that, but otherwise, I felt comfortable in their presence.
I've been to a lot of cool places but two of them are Cannes, France. It's on the French Rivera but they don't really speak English. Also, they have a famous film festival there that was going on when I was there but I didn't see any celebrities. The next place in neuschwannstein Schloss in Germany. It's the original Cinderella castle built in the 1800's. it's worth the long walk and many flights of stairs to get there. The inside is too beautiful and too historical for me to describe. It was so worth going to both of those places.
