In the future I plan to learn Korean so French or Japanese might help me.
I heard that Korean is similar to French and Japanese.
Why should I learn japanese/French?
You may wish to learn better English first, particularly sentence structure and punctuation. Until you grasp the basics of your native language, you will have a hard time learning a foreign language. Your question, for example, makes no sense. Just dropping the word "What" makes it a sensible question. Otherwise, punctuation is needed after "learn." When you learn a foreign language, instruction is based on the assumption you are throughly grounded in our own language.
Also realize that Korean and Japanese each have completely different alphabets than our own. You would not only have to learn the language, you will have to learn a whole new alphabet (two whole new alphabets if you want to learn both Korean and Japanese, which use different alphabets). French is in no way similar to Oriental languages. French is a European romance language more closely related to Latin-rooted languages such as Spanish and Italian than Oriental languages, which grew on an entirely different continent.
However, I commend you for wanting to stretch your cultural horizons and learn other languages. We Americans are shamefully behind other industrialized nations when it comes to fitting into the global economy. Good luck to you!
Both languages sound pretty cool to me. At the moment I'm personally learning a bit of French myself.
Reasons to learn French:
-Widely spoken language
-Good for travelling Europe
-It's the language of love
-Learning French let's you understand an amazing culture that's about food, love, architecture, artistry and more.
-It sounds great!
Good luck!
french will be much easier but if your planing to learn korean id go with japanese , just remember its very hard to learn and will take years to become fluent
Well, this year and next year, I'm learning French, but later on, I'm going to learn Chinese, and that's similar to Japanese (well they're both asian languages), but it really depends on what you want to do
Japanese is easier~
Consider if you'll be traveling in those nations.
If so, it'd be helpful to learn the language of the nation you'll likely be traveling or living in.
have you considered Chinese?
