Travelling alone at 21?

Posted at: 2015-06-30
Right now I'm 20, but next year I plan on going to a music festival overseas (I live in UK). I am already saving up for it and have my plans ready.

However, my mother does not want me to travel alone. I would stay in a nearby hotel, and would have transfers to the festival and back. It would require 2 short flights to get there.

In no way would I expect for her to pay. I have been working since I was 16 and I am very independent. I may meet someone who is also going to the festival before I go, but I may not. So my plans are for me only,

My family are very strict and would worry. I think my mum wouldn't like me going to that type of place.

Do you think I should tell her I am travelling to somewhere else? Or be honest?

You say you are very independent. are you truly independent? Do you live on your own or do you live in your parents home? If you are truly independent and not financially dependent on your parents...make the decision you want. If you are financially dependent on your parents, you owe them consideration and obedience. Either way...be honest about what you want to do.

You are an adult and there is no problem travelling alone in this age if you are normal.

The world is a vampire.

you're an adult and can make your own decisions
