Every country in the world has it's own culture, historic places, foods, and sights. So it really depends on what you want to see, surely you have some countries in mind that you would love to visit, or tourist sights that you've heard of.
I live in Australia and travel to Europe regularly. Asia is closer, but I love European history and I'm quite happy to travel such a long distance to visit the countries I love. So, find out what places you are interested in. While it's good to get the advice of others, a trip abroad has to be to someplace you really want to see. Go to your local library and get some travel guides, that will give you some ideas about different countries, how to travel, how much money to save, and what to see and do. And please ignore the answer from Megan. Many people travel alone, and safely. Nothing nasty is going to happen to you.
If you plan to travel anywhere, I suggest you get a guide or someone who knows the country well to go with you. If you decide to go on your own then I highly suggest that you find out the crime rates, currencies, poverty, etc. in that specific country. Every country has its quirks; some places like France, Greece, Rome are known for pickpockets. South Africa is known for highjackers that tend to kill the owners of the car, and they're also known for being crazy drivers. New York (In the United States of America) has bad crime rates as well, and so does Columbia (I think that's in Southern America). Many coastal areas have trade rings for all kinds of things; drugs, slaves, sex slaves, etc. Watch out for countries with ongoing disputes because you don't want to be caught in a warzone. Natural disasters are also to be taken into consideration.
In terms of views, I highly suggest Africa, but then again, go with a tourist group. Avoid places like Sierra Leona and Liberia because of the Ebola outbreak.
Every country has its own beauty in different ways. The problem is finding the safest way to travel because our world is so full of crime and things that could make your travelling not so fun :)
I'm terribly sorry for sounding so depressing, and I really love the idea of travelling the world when you're older, but I think it'd be wise for you to know the dangers of all these countries/continents.
