Dominican Republic and Nicaragua: Are they safe? Facts?

Dominican Republic yes safe and Nicaragua no,

For the person that just said that: " Nicaragua isnt safe you gotta be kiding me!!! " Nicaragua is the safest country in Latin America, good people, very safe country. Managua has a little of corruption, but in Managua they will probably steal your stuff if you are showing them off (like jewelry) people wont go far lol. Even though polices don't get well paid in Nicaragua, they work really hard to make the country safe.

Plus Nicaraguan people are very lovely and nice. And everything there is cheap. Nicaraguan people treat American in a very nice way..trust me, they do.

I dont know much of Dominican Republic, but you rather go to Nicaragua because of your dad.

You can just google Nicaragua safety and security and you will see that Nicaragua is safe:)

VISIT THIS WEBSITE is really good!

I recommend you to go to this website and show it to your dad if you want lol, is legit: http://www.economist.com/node/21543492

First of all, even though your dad may be over thinking it a bit, the items CNNs reports on are not made up. There are dangers and the only way you will be safe is to be conscious of them. Don't get me wrong, I'm not telling you not to go. You absolutely should. Just don't think it's going to be completely relaxed and without dangers.

Having said that. I read Lonely Planet "has named Dominican Republic as one of its Top 10 Countries for 2013". Check the link below.

Speaking of Lonely PLanet, I think you can download country-info from their website. If you show that to your dad and take a copy for yourself, it will ease as his mind and make it safer for you as well.

If you keep telling him it is not dangerous at all, it will only make him worry more because it makes you look naive and unprepared. Read and listen to all the info you can get and you'll have a great time!

Nicaragua safest country in Latin America according to the Interpol I been to nicaragua and I agree is safe the most dangerous part is managua and safest best and most beautiful being Granada San Juan del sur

Hi, I'm going to go on a trip to the DR or to Nicaragua when I turn 17 (This Summer) FOR FREE! Except for things like toiletries and everything like that lol. And this trip is part of a leadership program so I'll be with several other teens like myself from all around the country. So I'm trying to persuade my dad to let me go on this trip or on the trip to Nicaragua but he's kindof paranoid because he's the kinda guy who watches alot of CNN and pays too much attention to the status-quo. He's always been a bit too strict/protective and I understand why but I'm almost 17 and I feel that I'll be fine because I'll be with other teens and supervisors. My mom and I feel that he's overthinking it too much, even his sisters (my aunts) are saying that he needs to chill out. But he's too hard-headed. And I'm trying to find some cold hard facts that say that I'll be safe. I really wanna go and I feel that some sort of info about those two countries will ease his mind a bit and actually let me go.

Any sort of facts/info about the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua is much appreciated! Thanks :)
